Forbidden Fruit
Worked collaboratively with Talia Eiten to generate content and develop messaging based on environmentalism. Focus was on visual storytelling, materiality and books as a physical object.
The zine displays how the growth, farming process, and transportation of fruit negatively effects the environment. Each spread focuses on a different fruit and provides facts on how they harm soil and contribute to climate change.
largely handmade!
We constructed the paper ourselves using scraps and embedded strawberry seeds into it for texture. Fruit was scanned, as well as the fruit packaging such as the netting and fruit stickers. We illustrated our own images of the fruit and fruit stickers as well.
The majority of the project was made from scratch to make the zine feel more authentic and to correlate with our message of being environmentally conscious.
